About Home Visit Pet Care

Home Visit Pet Care began with a simple belief: veterinary care should feel easier, calmer and more personal for the pets and people who need it most.

What started in Wigan as a nurse-owned mobile veterinary service has grown into something much bigger. Today, Home Visit Pet Care is expanding into new regions across the UK, with every branch run by experienced veterinary nurses who care deeply about making pet care more accessible, compassionate and convenient.

Our branches are built around home visits because we know that not every pet does well in a clinic environment. Nervous pets, elderly animals, rescue dogs, cats who hate the carrier, and owners who struggle to travel can all benefit from care delivered in the place they feel safest: home.

Home Visit Pet Care

We focus strongly on preventative health, routine care, welfare support and early intervention. By spending time with pets in their own environment, our teams can often see the full picture more clearly and offer practical, personal support that fits real life.

As the brand grows, our mission remains the same: to bring high-quality veterinary care closer to home, led by skilled, compassionate nurses who know their communities.

The story behind Home Visit Pet Care

Home Visit Pet Care was founded in Wigan by Louise, a Registered Veterinary Nurse who saw first-hand how many pets and owners struggled with traditional practice visits.

During and after the Covid pandemic, it became clear that routine and preventative care was being missed by many families. Some pets were too anxious to travel, some owners found appointments difficult to access, and many people simply wanted a calmer, more personal way to care for their animals.

Louise built Home Visit Pet Care around that need. The idea was simple: take qualified veterinary care into the home, where pets are often calmer, owners feel more comfortable, and appointments can feel less rushed and stressful.

The Wigan branch quickly became a trusted local service. In 2025, Louise grew the clinical team, welcoming Toni as a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse, followed by Alex as a full-time vet. As demand continued to grow, the branch needed a proper hub for the team to meet, organise and support the mobile service.

Our core mission is to deliver effective, preventative health care to our clients pets. We aim to minimise health risks, spot problems early, and deliver comfortable, stress-free care in the pet's home environment.

We are champions of the under-dog and the overlooked. We see a lot of elderly and vulnerable pets and pet owners to whom a trip to a veterinary practice is not so much a walk in the park.

In true Home Visit Pet Care fashion, that practical next step became something more exciting. In 2026, Louise found premises that not only worked as an office and team base, but also offered consult rooms and reception space. This opened the door for the Wigan branch to begin adding selected in-clinic services, carefully designed to complement the mobile care that made the business special in the first place.

That same spirit is now being carried into new regions. In July 2026, our second branch opens in Alness and the Highlands with Hayley, followed shortly by Millie in Swadlincote and South Derbyshire. Further branches are also planned for later in 2026.

From one nurse with a big idea in Wigan, Home Visit Pet Care is becoming a growing network of nurse-owned branches, each shaped by local knowledge, clinical experience and a shared passion for helping pets and owners feel more supported.

Our mission

Our mission is to make veterinary care more accessible, less stressful and more personal.

We are here for the pets who find practice visits overwhelming. We are here for elderly and vulnerable owners who struggle to travel. We are here for busy families, multi-pet households, nervous rescue animals and anyone who wants trusted care delivered with patience, kindness and understanding.

Home visits will always be at the heart of what we do. They allow us to meet pets where they are most comfortable, build stronger relationships with owners, and offer care that works around real homes, real routines and real lives.

As our branches grow, some locations may also offer carefully selected clinic-based services. These services are there to support the mobile model, not replace it. Our aim is to give clients the best of both worlds: the comfort of care at home, with additional clinical support where it genuinely helps.

Pet Nurse Services Mission

Why nurse-owned matters

Every Home Visit Pet Care branch is nurse-owned.

That matters because veterinary nurses bring a very special kind of care to the profession. They are practical, compassionate, highly skilled and often spend a huge amount of time supporting both pets and owners through the everyday realities of animal care.

Our nurse-owned model gives experienced veterinary nurses the opportunity to lead their own local service, shape care around their community, and build something they are proud of.

For clients, it means each branch is run by someone who genuinely understands preventative health, welfare, routine care and the importance of calm, patient support.

For the veterinary profession, it offers something different: a route for talented nurses to step into business ownership while still doing the work they love.

A growing local network

Although Home Visit Pet Care is growing, each branch is local at heart.

Our Wigan branch was the first, and it continues to set the standard for what a modern home-visit veterinary service can become. Alness and the Highlands brings that same model to communities across a wide rural area, where access and travel can be a real challenge. Swadlincote and South Derbyshire will bring Home Visit Pet Care to another new region, with further branches planned as the year continues.

Each branch has its own local team, local knowledge and local personality. What connects them is the same shared purpose: helping pets receive high-quality care in a way that feels easier, kinder and more convenient.

Our values

Trust

Trust

Trust is the backbone of what we do. We ask you, our clients, to trust us with your pets health, and that is no small thing. We ask your pets to trust us when we administer that care. We return that trust by promising always to always listen (to both you and your pets), and give nothing but honest advice and premium quality care.

Integrity

Integrity

As veterinary professionals, we have pride in what we do and the standards we maintain. All our team are fully qualified and have a wealth of experience in multiple veterinary practices over many years. Honesty with our clients is essential, even if sometimes that means telling harder truths.

Quality Assured

Quality

We deliver the highest standards of pet care. We might not be able to offer the full range of medical services that you get from a veterinary practice, but visiting pets in their own home allows us to get better insights and see things others might miss. By visiting pets in their home environment, we can offer a better, more tailored, solution and unrivalled preventative health care.

Love

Love

We believe the bond between pet and pet owner is as beautiful and pure as love comes. We understand that the relationship is two-way, and ensure we take the time to consider the pet's and the pet owner's needs, and deliver advice to help both maximise the bond and the time you have together. We love our clients, we love your pets, and we love our job!
