End of Life Care – Frequently Asked Questions

We know this can be an emotional and uncertain time. Here are some of the questions we’re asked most often, with clear answers to help you make the right decision for your pet and your family.

How do I know when it’s the right time?

We offer in-home quality of life assessments to help you understand your pet’s condition and options. We’ll never pressure you - we’re here to support you with empathy and honesty.

Can euthanasia really be done at home?

Yes. Our home euthanasia service allows your pet to pass peacefully in familiar surroundings, surrounded by love - not stress.

What’s the difference between communal and individual cremation?

Communal cremation means ashes are not returned. Individual cremation ensures only your pet’s ashes are returned to you.

Do you offer services for rabbits or small pets?

Yes. We provide end of life care and euthanasia for cats, rabbits, and small furries as well as dogs of all sizes.

Can you transport my pet to the crematorium?

Yes - we offer cremation transport options, including for large pets requiring additional team members to support.

Can I stay with my pet during euthanasia?

This is of course your choice, but we encourage pet owners to be there, and you are welcome to be present throughout. We guide you gently through the process and give you time.

Do you offer any keepsakes or memorial items?

Yes. We can provide ink or foam paw prints, fur clippings in a keepsake jar, and ashes returned to your home.

Is euthanasia painful for my pet?

No. The process is peaceful and pain-free. Our approach is based around maximum comfort and minimal stress.

Can I book a visit just to discuss palliative care?

Yes. We offer quality of life and palliative care visits that include health checks, tests, and supplement support.

How should I prepare for a home euthanasia visit?

We’ll guide you through everything in advance, but many owners choose a quiet, comfortable space where their pet feels most at ease - on their bed, sofa, or favourite blanket. You may want to light a candle, play soft music, or have family present. Tissues, a drink of water, and a little privacy can make a difficult moment more peaceful.
